how do you go about analyzing this hand and what questions do you ask yourself / what range do you put him on. I need a lot of help coming up with his range. That is the absolute worst part of my game. I just don’t know where to start when trying to read my opponents and I find it very overwhelming.

Do I not bother and just chalk it up to the fact that its super early and I can find much better spots. No need to fight to the death yet? Is this a very simple fold that I am making to complicated?

whatever that range is, it certainly crushes 77.

You have to ask yourself a few questions:

  • How has my opponent been playing? Is he playing loose or tight?
  • How is my table image? Because of the hands I’ve shown down, do people perceive me as loose or tight?
  • Am I always making continuation bets on the flop?

Depending on the answers to these questions, he could just be raising your continuation bet with complete air, raising with a draw, or even have you dominated with A10 of spades.

Looking at the stack sizes at these blind levels, it seems that there’s been a whole lot of action going on.

Personally, I don’t know if I’m folding to his bet here just yet – besides you just need to call another 225 to win a 900 pot (4 to 1 odds) and you have a pretty healthy stack still. Re-evaluate on the turn.

Against a random I just fold because his range has us beat… If you have more in-depth information about the button flatter, it’ll yield to better advice.

image is key here. your image as well as his. we could cofidently take away AA, KK, QQ from his range. those hand will likely 3bet ur open. adding 66, 88, 99 and maybe jj. Btw… wt’s up with ur raise. full 3x there. back to ranging opp. he could be flatting with a number a suited connecters/gappers suted broadway containing a 10 but that is a image factor to consider. poker has evolved. players are becoming more creative and loose in calling/raising ranges. with no real read on opp.  we have to give him credit on play and wait on better spot.
