Hey All 🙂

$16.50 tourney and no reads on hero, ive been playing TAG.

I was playing a tourney last night with one of my mates and he insisted that we c/r flop for information. My friend also insisted that we lead out on the flop , but i dont like either play IMO.

personally i would have c/c flop and re-evaluate turn because i dont really wanna play a big pot with a marginal hand. I dont think when we c/r here we are getting called by worse hands , so i have no idea why i went along with it :s i think c/f flop would be pretty weak play but i guess given that we are OOP it would not be terrible as there is going to be a few over cards we wont like to see! Also what are we going to c/r bluff on this board to balance our c/r range? i guess our range for c/r has to be pretty damm polarized

anyway ive been out of poker for a good 2-3years now , i have forgotten a lot of stuff and im not sure how the players are now compared to then ,  some of u might know me by my name as i used to be a regular on here. i hope everyone is well  , looking forward to your thoughts on this hand?

I much prefer your line.  Your check raises here should usually be 5x, and some bluffs.  Your hand is fine to check/call.

If there is any place you can play differently, it is preflop.  You might want to 3 bet this from the SB, vs a HiJack raise.  You are ahead of his range, out of position, and don’t want to invite the BB to overcall.

Hello FAPY,

yes I sure remember your name, it still cracks me up when I think of it. Its right up there with my 2 other favourite poker names…”Luck Expert” and “I Need It Man”…

Never c/r ‘ing this on this flop…c/c all day long. Betting for information is some kind of nebulosity, imo, if that is a word. Whatever info you get, its never specific. Honestly? I feel its a term bandied about by folk who think they know what they are talking about, but are in fact verging on clueless. No disrespect to your mate.

I’m usually 3 betting this pre, but even then, I’m not turning this in to a bluff on this board by c-betting tens. Again, I am c-calling. It’s just a check-call all day long, and right through the summer.

Btw, are you from London?

Don’t use free software too much. I can give you a whole range of great stuff to buy though! I am sure Equilab is free, Pokerstove too. But there are a load of very cheap products which are super valuable and next to free. Like SnapShove, for $10 or whatever, and I can’t remember how much Flopzilla is, but it is not much. These products pay for themselves almost instantly, so the way I see it, not only do they not cost anything, they effectively pay you for installing them! This dynamic applies to any good poker product, if you make use of them, including coaching btw. Having said that, I do understand that if you’re skint, finding the initial outlay for even a $10 product can be a challenge. Been there…I was skint for years. Now I’ve got kids, so I can’t afford to be skint…ever!

I am sure there are lots of folk here who can help you better. Might be better to post this question in the Software Thread…

I actually recognise your screen name…london_ace. I’m sure I have seen you around in my games…the $7/15 27-180 man turbos or $15 18-man SNG’s are my main games.

I am from London, well I have lived here for 25 years since I was 18. I have lived everywhere from Tottenham to Hammersmith to Wood Green to Heathrow, where I live now. I drive HGV’s in town, currently you can find me driving around Victoria and Westminster daily…
