For the pros that use HUD, what stats do you use on the main display box?

to be honest, the only thing I really pay attention to are VPIP and PFR.  If I need to get more in-depth than that I go into my HUD and find out the extra information I need.

Also, make sure you have a significant sample size before taking the HUD information into consideration.  100 hands may be significant, but it is definitely not a proper sample size.

I use vpip, pfr, 3bet %, post flop aggression, cbet% and fold to cbet%.  I use all of these stats pretty regularly.

Not sure I’m meant to reply here since I’m not a pro but I think this is a very interesting subject and not discussed all that often.

Like Wein said; HUD stats only become accurate once the sample size is good enough. However in tournament poker there are so much more considerations to be made then with cashgames (regarding HUDs obviously). For example. In cashgames players (regulars) are always 100BB+ deep so even though there is a lot of play possible, the stack size is always the same (or deeper). So because the stack sizes are always 100BB+ the hud stats really reffer to this stack size and become more accurate.

In tournament poker stack sizes, table dynamics etc will be so different all the time, every single table and tournament is different. Having 10.000 hands on a very good LAG player is not going to help you a bit because when he has 100BBs and 30BB+ stack/tag players behind him, he’ll play so different then when he’s got 10BBs and only 50BB stacks behind.

^ This is obviously just a small example but I hope you get my point.

I think a HUD is extremly useful when you play multiple table at the same time.
The way I use my HUD is to only track the stats that are from the current table only and only to use those stats to quickly identify in which gear villain is/what type of player villain is.

I use VPIP/PFR/3B/F3B and AGGR %/checkraise%/fold2cbet/cbet – Looking at these stats I think you can easily identify what type of player you are playing up against.

I also use the stats to identify the habitual ep open raisers from the late position ones so I can make sure and get my 3 bets in when its most likely the villain has air,  I use the steal stats as well as the fold to 3 bet percentage and c bet info.  I also pull up the player statistics box and go into view hands filtered by 1 bb and it gives me a full picture on what the villain is flatting with and what he is raising with if he ever raise folds or limp folds as well as the 3 bet and 4 bet range to see exactly what type of hands villain will 3 bet and 4 bet with.  I use the post flop aggression to determine if im best to slow play the nuts or value bet the whole way…. high aggression on the turn and river will usually show who is willing to double and triple barrell.
