Hello!

This is the second hand I was questioning, that I discuss with a coach long time ago, and I was curious to what other people think. Remember, I am typing the full hands here, if there is some mistake I apologise. The maniac is the same player as the other hand.

200/800/1600
UTG hero (68468)
HJ (148367)
BTN (282129) maniac
SB (33254)

Pre flop: Hero (38467) is UTG AspadeAdiamond
Hero raise 4000, 03 folds, HJ, BTN and SB calls, BB folds.

Flop Qclub5club2club (pot 20000, 04 players)
SB (30254) check, hero (66468)? What is your thoughts here? I have a multiway pot, with overpair that may be good, but I have a maniac IP on me.

Hero raised 8880, HJ (144367) calls, BTN folds, SB (30254) call.

Turn 3heart (pot 46640, 03 players)
SB (21374) checks, Hero? Should I keep barreling? Check call? check fold? check raise?

Hero checked, HJ (135487) raises 6000, SB (21374) call, hero?

Hero called

River Qdiamond(pot 64640, 03 players)
SB (15374) checks, hero (49588)?

hero check, HJ (129487) raises 64640, SB fold, hero(49588)?

Awful flop for your hand. But I would still bet flop 100% of time. You don’t block a flush, but it’s still not very likely that any of the villains have exactly two clubs.

When they both just call the flop, it tells more about their range. I would probably exclude AQ and KQ cause those hands should re-raise 100% of time. They are more likely to have some strong club, weaker Q or maybe a pocket pair.

I hate your turn play. 3h is as much of a brick as you can ask for. With 46k in the pot, you are against 2 villains, you have like 56k behind. You have to decide, either you give up on the play and check-fold to any bet, or shove. I don’t know what I would do in this spot. It would be tough for me to fold AA. With your opponent being a maniac, it makes your river decision even more difficult.

I like your line overall. I might bet turn, but I think river is likely a fold. Too many Qx combos and not enough busted one-club combos in villain’s range, even when you unblock the Ac.

EDIT: Just realised I misread the hand. Think turn is definitely a bet, and versus this villain you might consider calling river. Tough spot – mostly a matter of sorting through combos and figuring out which ones villain would bet turn with. I think my major reason for perhaps folding is that villain is unlikely to bet something like AcTh on the turn with that tiny sizing. It seems like a weakish queen looking to protect, much more than a random club.
