Good Morning TPE,

So I have looked through the forums and really didnt see a specific post on re-entry tournaments. I know Riverman mentions it in his last series and how profitable it can be to take chances early just trying to double up knowing that your tourney life is not at stake.

Considering I didnt find a consensus on 2+2, P5s, or Cardschat, I would really appreciate hearing some thoughts on re-entry MTT gameplan:

1. Are you playing more aggressively with draws early and taking more chances in marginal spots such as racing, shoving draws early? Are we treating this like a re-buy?

2. Conversely, are you adjusting to more agg play from players who are imploring a multi-rebuy strategy of using several bullets to build a monster stack?

3. Do you find that logging a note in a players profile who uses several bullets is profitable in helping to adjust to their seemingly more propensity to get the chips in the middle in the early stages?

3. How many bullets do you give yourself (any kind of buy-in, prize pool ratio)

4. At what stage is it not profitable to re-enter? 20 bb’s? 10?

5. Overall game plan thoughts and any advice you may have.

Thank you in advance for your advice. I would like to develop a gameplan or a formula to follow and make sure I am getting the most equity out of the format while not hindering my roi. It seems as though in re-entry tournaments I am much more willing to call off my chips in marginal spots ie draws, mid pairs, three bets in order to try and have the advantages of a big stack in the mid/late stages. Non-dependent on the prize pool, I usually will buy in for as many entries as is equal to the min cash. Seeing as a min cash is not ever the goal, I usually adjust that metric upward in larger prize pools because of the money up top. My leak seems to be the exact same tactics I am using to build a big stack and getting myself in marginal situations after I have already doubled up to try and build a monster stack. Regardless, I thought it might be useful to everyone who plays this format to start a thread up and combine thoughts.

Thanks and good luck out there.
