There is a regular weekly NLHE tourney in my neighbourhood for a buy-in of $20 that usually attracts 24-30 players a game.  Starting stack is 120bb (6000 in chips w/ 25/50bb) and 20 minute levels.

Most of the players are regulars.  I have played the game 6-7 times and am starting to get a pretty good read/range on a few of the opponents I have played against a few times.  It has taken a few bad calls and a few bad beats to help develop these reads. The last couple of times, I have been trying to be more mindful and concentrate on what is happening while I am no longer in hands.

The main reason I consider this game soft is the number of limps into a pot during the first 3 levels.  Usually with about 8 players, it is common to see three to four or more limp into a pot.  I am trying to adjust to this from late position.  From CO to BB, I am thinking of raising 6-8bb w/ top 9% ( TT+, ATs+, KJs+, ATo+, KQo) depending on who called in what position, and call w/ a range of 10-25% (99-22, A9s-A2s, KTs-K9s, QTs+, J9+s, T8s+, 97s+, 86s+, 75s+, 65s, A9o-A2o, KJo-KTo, QTo+, JTo, T9o, 98o, 87o,).  I have seen a couple of players limp UTG w/ JJ+, so with them in mind I will raise 6-8bb with a range of 4%(JJ+, AQs+, KQs, AQo) while calling  up to the 25% indicated.  Of course all of this depends on my stack size being over 60bb.

Any helpful suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Your ideas about ranges seem decent, since it’s hard to isolate wide against multiple passive players. However, be careful about trying to plan out your ranges in advance. You don’t want to get stuck into one specific strategy – adaptation is necessary in every spot. Focus on adapting a fluid approach based on your reads at each individual table.
