I have been debating a hand with a couple of friends whose play I respect and not sure what the best line would be.  Playing a live $230 tourney the other night.  I have approximately 11k with the blinds at 100/200.  I raise to 500 with A10s and get two callers.  Villain A – Drunk guy has 2800 after losing 90% of his stack on a weak failed bluff. Villain B – Loose guy on the button with approx 18k chips.  Flop is 8910 with two diamonds.  Super dynamic board kind of his me uncomfortable.  I sense that drunk guy is going to jam so I decide to check.  He jams for 2300 and villain B proceeds to tank and eventually calls.  Based on action I am wondering if flatting is best vs a check raise.  If I do check raise, is there any bet other than a shove that would be appropriate.

Thanks!

I am not happy about this, but I am likely to just call, and try to check it down from here, not calling any more bets, unless is really small.

If you shove you narrow BTN calling range to monsters or huge draws, not sure i like this option.

This is a super awkward spot. I think the question is, do you think the caller is likely to potentially tank with a strong hand to induce action from you, or would they raise all their strong hands? If the answer is that they would raise, it’s a clear shove to isolate the shover. It’s not an issue if you shut out some weaker hands by doing so, since they’ll likely still have enough equity that you benefit from going heads-up.

With no read on this specific tendency, or with the possibility that they could be trapping, I think it’s close. I actually would consider folding here, since I don’t think the spot where you end up calling and playing future streets is likely to be an easy one, but I think calling is probably marginally better if you think the caller could call the shove with a hand like J9 or similar. You block Tx, so that’s somewhat problematic, and the other issue you have to think about is that the drunk guy who went all-in isn’t exactly drawing dead. He probably has at least some outs against your hand here at worst.
