Attack Friday night.  Surgery Saturday morning to remove gallbladder.  Life is a bitch.  WUG questions?

Also, anyone else experienced this?  Love to hear your feedback on life after surgery especially with regards to eating fatty food…which is like all I eat.  cool

KB,

My wife had her's out after our 2nd child.  She has minor issues with eating, but nothing major.  It effects people in different ways.  Your body will tell you if it's not processing things right.  Glad you are doing ok.

yeah, one thing I have learned is it is a lot more common than I would have thought.  Seems like some people get it out early when it first starts giving them trouble.  I never knew what the issue was but Ive had stomach issues for a while.  They started getting worse around the WSOP this summer as Loxxi, Marc and Danny can tell you.  Glad no video exists of the things I was trying to “cure” myself.  lol

Mine was apparently in really bad shape.  Very enlarged and “full of sludge and stones”.  My surgeon told me there was another guy getting his done the day before me and it was only a little worse and he was in the ICU afterwards because it impacted his liver and some other organs as well…or something like that.  I was all morphined out when he was talking to me.  🙂

But yeah, feeling lucky.  hopefulyl this cures some of my stomach issues.  Will be all worth it if so!

Glad you're home and doing well! What kind of “attack” exactly? What causes gall bladder issues? Do you think you are being punished by God? If so, for what?

Im not really the god fearing type, so not that. But if I was, it would definitely be for being too nitty or not two barrelling enough. 🙂

From what my doctor said, gallbladder issues are typically due to poor diet (high fat) and genetics.  I was definitely guilty on the diet side…even though Im not particularly overweight or anything, I def eat a ton of high fat foods.  As for genetics, I did not even know until this happened that my aunt and cousin both have theirs out and my grandmother had gallbladder disease.

An attack can consist of a variety of symtoms.  In my case it was INTENSE pain, vomiting, and sweating.  My doctor thinks my attack was a long time coming, but it was “kicked off” in this case by a stone getting caught in the duct that releases the bile form the gallbladder. But he said i was going to have a bad attack eventualy regardless.

Phuckin Del Taco man!

this happened right after your Vegas and AC trips and right before all the good poker trips coming up in the next few months. this couldn't have happened at a better time.

ya know except for that whole Christmas thing.

btw, I did get video of you curing it in Vegas.

I'm gonna voice over it SITTM style and critique your efforts for my new training site called gallbladderedge.com

I really hope this does get rid of your stomach issues. You're gonna be back in no time. Better than ever.

feeling almost back to normal today.  No pain pills so far today.  Hardest thing is sitting for long periods.  Looking forward to getting back on the grind!

I read your responses on the morning of Christmas Eve. That night, one of my uncles was saying that he'd had his gall bladder out and asked if I knew what caused most gall bladder issues. Little did he know I'd just learned all about it!

Its amazing how many people I have now learned have had the procedure.  Didn't realize it was as common as it was, although my surgeon did tell me it was a very routine procedure, nothing to worry about etc.

Half a million people year apparently get it removed.

Had my follow up with him today and everything looks good.  Tonight im trying french fries (a bit of a gamble) and beer (which is apparently not a problem at all, expecially now that I am off the pain meds).

He said the vast majority eventuall get back to where they can eat whatever they want. But it can take the body some time to adjust.

Also feel like I can sit for decent periods of time now, so gonna play my first session tonight.

GL ME!
