The next cycle will kick off on Tues Feb 5th 19:30 ACST. The cycle will run over 8 weeks and your best 6 scores count. For those who are not familiar with the competition- the winner receives $AU1.1K to buy into a live tourney of their choice (International players are welcome to play and use winnings for UKPT, etc..). They get 50% of themselves and the remaining 50% gets distributed among the other players proportionate to their score. We use a modified scoring system based on the PokerStars model. Players have to pay up front to be eligible, the fee will depend on how many runners we get… i.e. if we get 10 runners it'll be $AU110 each. There is also an option to negotiate a larger buyin, if we get 30+ players… for something like the WSOP $3.3K accumulator…
The sign-up details are as follows:

Once I've approved your membership request, we'll be ready to start playing Home Games online together.
We also generally hook-up to the Skype TPE conference call, which has proven to be a very beneficial learning tool.
In the mean-time we will schedule a mixed-game tourney for fun next week - tuesday 29th Jan
at our usual time 19:30 ACST.
Come along and meet the regs, talk some crap and dabble in some weird-arse mix-game action, before we get serious for Cycle V.

And Benny, sorry but we probably haven't met unless you've spent time in Whyalla. I thought I might get the opportunity to play against you in the recent 888pl state champs (seeing as you seem to be an afficianado of pub poker) but I was out somewhere around the 150 mark (disappointing).

Ok, with pickupstix and maybe a few late comers we'll have 14-16 runners.
A quick discussion with our HomeGame thinker in residence 'Dalez' gave rise to a new prize structure.
We all put AU$100 each, first place gets the $1.1K , 2nd gets a Sunday Million buyin ($215), 3rd gets a $109 and maybe 4th the big 55 or the residual for a nominate online tourney. All winners get 50% of themselves and the remainder distributed on the basis of points, as per our usual model.
Obviously there will be some currency conversion issues, but you get the gist of it.
If you oppose this speak up! Most of the guys that played tonight were amenable to the idea.
I'll provide banking details later either via PM, or Skype chat…. or facebook if you want to hit me up 'Mike Steer' Adelaide

Thanks for the “hey what's going on in the homegame?” prompt Duggs… which can be translated to “hey tell everyone that I'm dominating cycle V”…
Yes, Duggs has been killing it and will be difficult to topple over in the two remaining games. The younger, more likeable kiwi, Luke 'Liverpool', has also been in the mix, and has done more sucking out than a…. ahem! Personally I'd rather see an Aussie win this thing, as no one like's getting beaten by their younger brother and i don't want to pay the international bank transfer fees.
We've also had a few new guys, who are now well entrenched in the DU fraternity. 'Shutup Dom' has featured highly and is clearly a very competent poker player. Dingy and Pickupstixx are yet to get in the points, but it wont be long before they do.
Benny's started off crap and is making a resurgence for a podium, but has struggled to temper his premature confidence and has been put in his box by the poker deities. Mark 'mcgcork' started off well but has been coolered by family committments, although the consideration of playing on the stars phone app while going out for dinner with his visiting mum is testimony to his underlying dedication.
The other regs, Dons, Dalez, Wabbitt and Boonos have been ambling along.
Here's the update leader board, and I'll endeavour to report more frequently.
Also the next cycle, C-VI, will probably kick-off mid April, so if you're interest get ready to join. I reckon it's high time we get a tpe pro to play, record, and review – with a bounty on their head of course!

We wrapped up Cycle V last week and Duggs remained victorious, taking his 2nd title down with relative ease. He earns $1.1K for a live tourney of his choice.
The next two podium places were a battle to the wire between Troy (Shutup Dorn), Wabbitt, and myself. I choked under pressure bailing out in 5th, whereas Wabbitt and Troy butted heads-up! Troy was the eventual victor, securing a Sunday Millions entry, Wabbit missed out and I managed to sneak in (by ~6%) to third and get to play the big $109….
Cycle VI will start in a few weeks and we are yet to settle on a start date – WSOP APAC may get in the way as a few of us will be having a crack. Everyone welcome to join, i'll start a new thread soon.

Had a ball guys. The goal was to gain experience by playing against guys better than me, and I learned a lot.
Was fortunate enough to bink a couple of results, but that was just a bonus. Congrats in particular to Duggs, who schooled me on several occasions, and forced me to think more about my decisions. A well deserved win.
Looking forward to the next series..

Thanks for the love there Troy, I was pretty lucky winning key flips and avoiding coolers this time around. Since we changed the points system up this time dingy should get the same share as the smallest imo, so .69% same as pickupstixx. it can come out of my share. obv im not volunteering or committing 2nd or 3rd to anything but this way you have a sweat.
