Hey guys…wanted to start at thread where we can talk/share music that not everyone else might not know. I have pretty varied music tastes but lean towards indie rock type stuff.
Here's an artist I have really liked for a long time that almost no one knows. In fact my wife and I loved his name so we gave it to our son.
Been digging this guy A LOT lately. Basically it's guy playing everything (pretty sure the drums are samples though), totally self funded, self produced and self distributed. As far as what it is, I'd describe is as intrumental prog/post rock/metal.

I saw these guys perform when they were opening for someone else…they sound amazing live!

Country: Ehhh this genre is kinda not my liking but Rascal Flatts, Lady Antebellum

Rock: Queens of the Stone Age, Tool, Deftones (sick brag – got to sing on stage twice with them), Radiohead, Arctic Monkeys, Muse (older stuff – Origin of Symmetry is an amazing album), The Black Keys, Arcade Fire (Tunnels is close to a perfect song and so is In the Back Seat) … that's stuff that most people have heard of.

I'll chime in as well. My favourite band right now is “Mother Mother”. They are Canadian like me and hail from the opposite end of the country (Vancouver). check them out on facebook or youtube and prepare to be blown away. Their “O My Heart” 2008 album (their 2nd) is amazing.
