 Brief bio:

Male. 44, Illinois, married, 5 year old daughter, been doing IT for near 30 years.  Struggle with Work-Life balance so poker is a contention point with wife.

Live poker I’m +EV by a decent amount, but my options are very limited and the rake eats up my edge.

Online I do alright on Bovada and recently starting messing with ACR, but haven’t been able to focus when I play there and can’t seem to play at a time when there’s decent tournies (i.e. #’s) running.

So my challenges are:

1) Where to play?

A) Bovada?

B) ACR?

C) Somewhere else?

2) When to play?

A) Have to find timeslots that have good numbers of tournies running

B) have to convince wife to leave me alone in the timeslots

3) Bankroll management –  as this isn’t my profession, BRM will be vastly different than what it would be for someone who relies on poker income for their livelihood.  However, I do want to be able to draw on my winnings for non-essential items.

A) figure out average buy-in for the time slots I can actually play.

B) Initial bankroll of 30-40 buy-ins and if I go broke, review & reassess?

4) Make sure I also have time dedicated to continue poker education.

I live in CST.

Will target around $20 buy-ins (give or take).

If anyone is in a similar siutation with family, I’m open to suggestions for times.  May one night a week and Sundays?
