Hi, I’m gona start keeping notes on my MTT grinds, as with most I’m posting it here as a personal aid.

I’m 18, from the UK and as with most aspire to be a pro!

Playing only my second ever live tourney in under 2 weeks – the EPT Barcelona Main Event which I can’t wait for! Cashed in my first live event in the Dusk Til Dawn casino, Nottingham in the UKIPT Main Event. Won the Barcelona package for €33.

Online has gone from great to bad, as I had a 2 week spell where final tabled pretty much every other day of tourneys under $50 with >1000 runners, all for at least $1k each. Unfortunately I had no idea about correct bankroll management, so i ended up having 4-6 tables going at once with buy-ins ranging from $55-$500, and sure enough I lost in excess of $5000 in the following month.

Anyway, with my bankroll completely empty across all sites I’ve been a TPE member for a couple of months and have finally deposited $1500 on Stars and €1000 on stars.fr which I hope will be my final deposits (i got the money from my insurance after writing off my car on a lads camping trip!). I plan on sticking to $55/€50 buy-ins max, and only have one or two of these stakes on the go at one time and no more than 2 per day. I plan on mostly sticking to under $33 buy-ins.

My short term goal is to just break even for this next week or so until I travel to Barcelona and get back into the run of things, resulting in a cash of any kind at the EPT.

That's awesome dude! Congrats on the quick win. Careful with action hours and turbos in general though. With $2500, you still need to play lower than $33's to sustain through variance (assuming still that you're a winning player). The fields you play are likely massive.

I was thinking as I've got just shy of $5000 BR collectively, $50 equals 100buy-ins which is apparently enough to beat variance? But im still planning on sticking to sub $30's anyway, hope 100-150 buy-ins is enough!?

So, just got back from Spain – didnt cash, went bust in around 500th at end of day 2. I posted what resulted as a key hand for my tourney, resulting in either 50k stack or >100k stack in the forums.

Back to online, in total around a couple hundred $ up.  I'm not sure whether it is a leak in my game, but I very noticably still have huge swings. I've won that action hour for $1200, came third in €10 Storm on stars.fr two nights ago for €1600 and last night placed 5th in a $55 10k gtd for £1100. So in three scores over past week I've won good size compared to my BR, but other than these I just loose alot – I am presuming it's the variance of big fields heightened with my very aggro style but even so I am going to try cut down on tables at once to hopefully a maximum of 4 .

My hopefully very achieveable goal is to get $20k in earnings by end of 2014.

Maybe I should create another thread for this but I have the same problem. When I play 50 buyin plus tourneys and multitable 4 of them, I just cannot have the same success as playing 2 at once. I mean sometimes I get good cards on all of them and just click without having time to think opponent ranges etc.

I guess from now on I will just play 2 of the major tourneys at once, and maybe one turbo satellite as those rely more on cards than the players. I think the 4th table is kind of a stretch.

I will only do it with very low buyins.

Just wondering if you guys have the same problem. If so, what is your multitabling strategy?

Personally I play anywhere from 1 to 6 or 7 tables. I just reg tourneys and let them pop up. Currently I'm 2 tabling with big 55 and hot 55, but in half an hour, presuming im still in these two i'll be 7 tabling.

Just un regged some – not going more than 4!

(the buyins of tourneys dont effect how many i play, not sure if that is bad or not?)

but yes i also achieve far greater success with 2 tables, which is why i generally loose all day before saving it with a tourney right at end of session when no other tables are up…
