So I have come up with two suggestions, variations on the same theme. I actually had the idea for the book a year ago…I mentioned it at the time but never pursued it. But as I was driving home the other night I thought to myself…’hot damn! That was a great idea!’…so I shall repeat it.

Riceman idea #1: Member video series, whereby members narrate replays of tourneys they have played in. After each piece of member narration, ie after each discussed hand, a pro comes in to give his ideas. I think it will be interesting (perhaps even amusing/comical) to hear how non-pro’s think.

I put myself forth to be the guinea pig.

Having said all this…I expect TPE must (have) run a similar video format.

Idea #2: The ‘Education Of An Errant Poker Player”…by Andrew Brokos, Matthew Hunt, and Mark Rice. Published by Tournament Poker Edge Press.

As Andrew and Matt and myself have had such great discussions around game theory, my idea is that tournament poker topics are given to me to write what I think. Then I send my writing on a subject back to Andrew and Matt, and they write their thoughts to set me straight. For example: Chapter 4: Three betting. I write my utter bullshit and misconceived ideas around 3-betting. Then I hand it to Andrew and Matt who each write their respective pro’s perspectives.

Mate…it would be an instant classic in any player’s tournament poker library.

Let’s get on it…it would also be great fun, and Andrew and Matt can cement their reputations as great poker minds, and the poker world would be exposed to their formidable intellects, (and to the Riceman’s bullsh*t).

What do you think?

like the video idea. We’ve done a few series where the pro and the member have reviewed hands together, but might be cool if they are not together as you avoid the possibility for “group think” (if that is the right phrase for it)

Hmmm…you’re a good man KB. I know this from listening to you over the years. But I have to say, donning my Sherlock Holmes ?hat for a second that I have deduced that you don’t like the book idea lol.

Ahh well…personally I prefer the book idea. The poker world will end up knowing the name of The Riceman one way or another!

(I doubt it will be because I end up a boss).

Well if Andrew and Matt considers the book a good idea then I’ll get the thing printed myself…via the Riceman Press. TPE can weep as to how they missed such an obviously golden opportunity! (Just kidding).

In all seriousness, I don’t think I am stupid, and I have some way mistaken ideas about (probably most of) tournament poker. And I am a funny bastard…how do I know this? Because I amuse myself! And I am a pretty decent writer I think (perhaps I go too far here?). I am sure the questions I have many serious amateurs also have. I know I am somewhere near asking great questions because some of the answers to questions posed in my threads have astounded and surprised me, and on at least one occasion, I think even a pro has learned something from my threads.

Whatever…mull it over…even if it is only for a second. Personally, I think it would be a hoot to write!

I don’t know…I’ve thought more about it today…perhaps it would be utterly crap and a bloody embarrassment for everyone involved, least of all me lol!

It always seems a great idea when I’ve had a whiskey for some reason. Having said that it seemed like a good idea when I was driving home the other evening too.

Then again, I almost always drink drive so that’s no surprise! (JOKE).
