Up top is GTD $50k + $5300 PartyPoker Millions package, in fact I think all of the FT receive the package.

I’ve played quite a few live tournaments, mostly local casino stuff with the occasional bigger event but I think this is the biggest UK event I have been too. I am hoping to make this my mini Moneymaker moment smileas I satellite my way into the tournament $22 – $109 – $675 (~£550 entry) and I did them back to back which was pretty nice. I then had the choice of playing Day1 online or Live at the venue. I originally wanted to play the whole thing live to a) get used to the venue b) get the live tells and notes on the players ect but logistics were not good as the venue is 5.5hr drive from me, in addition I didn’t want to spend all that time on the road only to bust in the first few levels. So I played the online day 1 last night and am pleased to report that I not only made it through but am 2nd in chips from that day 1 with 110bbs cooland wow it was a good choice as many of the players were terrible and just dumping chips on me when I had it. I think is 5 hrs of play I played just 8 hands and finished with 7x my starting stack.

Fortunately I have friends near the venue so I will drive there tomorrow, the final day is on Sunday. As with last weeks event I will try to update this thread in the breaks.

Any advice is welcome.

And guys and girls please provide some encouragement and comments on the thread. It’s always good to know that someone is railing you and interested.

Well I’m here at the venue just waiting to get started. I have 670k chips and the average is 400k.

Apparently the event has undersold significantly and there is an £80k overlay!

Keep up the good work. Sounds like online Day 1 was the right choice. You also got more hands in the early levels this way, which allowed you to refrain from pressing small edges. Wonder whether the WSOP will do split Day 1s in any online bracelet event next year.

I’ve actually been reading through these and they are pretty exciting…even in retrospect. Maybe more of us should post when we get a run going.

I’m not sure about the karma though (man).

I feel that if I start posting because I feel like I am feeling good and running great and can foresee a great potential score, the second I manifest that feeling in words I will be struck by a bolt of negative ⚡ energy.

And even if I am not struck thus by this bullshit bolt which exists only in my stupid superstitious pea brain, it makes no difference…the doubt will set in like a rot and my annihilation in the tournament will become a self fulfilling prophecy.

And then I’ll just be pissed off and wishing I hadn’t talked about it at all in the first place!

(This, and also I am too embarrassed to have anybody rail me because they will then know my screen name and will check me out on Sharkscope and see that I am utterly,  utterly crap at poker, despite having devoted a significant portion of my life to studying the game).

I’ve been posting these threads to try to generate some more activity in the forum for railing each other and pushing each other forwards. Its fun, and its inspiring railing someone going deep.

Sh ite happens whether someone is watching you or not (and we all know this), and I actually find it helps me to focus better if I am being observed. Think you need to try to get past those mental hurdles. I think you will find that you wont tilt as badly when being railed.
