Nice. I'll be in town 30 June-8 July, staying at Rio. Probably playing the $777 and little 1 drop events. Always looking for partners in crime for all-you-can-eat sushi, beach volleyball, yoga, and, if you're Carlos-minded like me, discount supermarket runs.
I'll be in town June 18-23 for the Seniors. There is also a seniors at Planet Hollywood that weekedn that I'll get in if I bust the WSOP.

Hi All –
I'll be there May 28-June 5th and July 2-11 (or longer).
I'll be playing the 10 am flight of the Colossus on Friday, May 29th.
I'll be taking a couple shots at the WPT 500 (10 flights $2 million guaranteed, $565 buy-in). I believe it is 15k starting chips with 30 min levels (top 5% of each flight move on). Day 2 is not until July 5th though so plan accordingly. I'll probably also play a 100k G at Golden Nugget for $350 buy-in (1 day) and they have other events at PH etc.
I played a WSOP Warmup event at my Casino $660 with 3 day 1 flights and top 10% going to day 2. I was able to make day 2 and was 34th/49 remaining going into day 2. I'm thrilled to say that I finished in 9th and was able to get WSOP ME seat. While it sucked that I finished in 9th (5.2k vs $60k for first place), the final 9 players received a free $10,000 WSOP ME seat so it was like a satellite and a regular tournament combined…..except it had 500 entrants.

What do you guys do for food? Pack lunches and tons of snacks? I noticed a lot of or maybe all WSOPs won't have a meal break on day 1. Is this …..eal-plans/ my best option?

The reason I stay at Rio is so I can get snacks out of the fridge in my room. For those staying elsewhere, these types of meals are a +EV play. Just when the decisions are the most important is going to be when you’re the most tired or worn out. And although the cocktail servers are fine with you powering through a session with sugar-free red bull, it can catch up with you.
Hey, TPE: Can you get some sort of arrangement with one of these poker kitchen alternatives where they advertise on the site and your members get 20% off some sort of food package? Maybe bigdog endorses them or wears a patch.

I am back as a member of TPE after taking a couple years away from poker. I joined back because I need to get a lot better at poker then I am today and I think that TPE can help me sharpen my skills. The main reason I am back is because I am going to go to the WSOP July 1st – 6th this year.. I already pre registered for the lucky $777 tournament and I am going to try and satellite into the Main Event. I am really looking forward to meeting up with some of the TPE crew and making a big run at it this year. I have saved a $10,000 BR for the WSOP/cash games so time to swing for the stars!

I'm a newbie to TPE. I've really been enjoying all the videos. Me and three of my poker pals (aka the “Donkski Brothers”) will be at the Rio from May 28th to June 2nd. We've signed up for three of the four day ones of the Colossus (1a,c,and d) with the plan that we'll forfeit small stacks at the end of the prelim sessions and try for a big stack for day 2. Since the WSOP will refund your buy-in if you don't play one a flight that you signed up for, we figure it will be our best chance to get some piece of this circus (even if we are likely to be the clowns). It would be great to meet any TPE members while we're there.

Going on June 17th to 24th to play WSOP Senior event, staying at Palazzo as going with wife and 2 kids, and they like that area for shopping, etc.
If I bust senior may play senior at Venetian, ME or other satellites running on Saturday.

I'm at work on this Memorial day and all I can think about is my Vegas trip in a month. lol The original game plan was go the first week and play Colossus, but work changed that plan with something major came in. But, that's ok, gave me a longer trip on the end by playing the $777 & Main…………..
I'll be following you kids in the early events. Hoping for deep runs for you all.

Hey I was formerly datsmyquarterbak on here but I just had my name changed and so unfortunately my profile had to be deleted. I made a deep run in last year's 5k PLO event finishing 2nd and I'm looking to do a lot more this summer hopefully. Last year was my first WSOP. This year I'm doing it a little bigger and going out for 2 weeks starting June 10th then I'll be coming back to Vegas on July 6th for my first Main Event. Family obligations are keeping me from being out there for the whole summer.

I'll provide some endorsement. Not that I'm a PRO, but I think my track record of having a clue who are good players is ok.
I had a chance to watch Daruis at his PLO FT (that was stacked with pros like Phil Laak and others). I'm not a PLO champ, but Daruis played well and even Tuck and other commentators said he played well. I have seen and followed him in Borgata & Parx events since I found out he was a TPE member. Seems like a GOOD guy although is a Golden State fan (Go Sixers) lol
My motto this year is “Why not me” No one knew who D was last year….. now a lot do.
Just my thoughts……
No doubt Marc can shed more light on the play of Daruis then I can.

To answer your question Joel, yes there is markup and all of the details are in the link that I posted. A little quick background. I'm 36 years old (birthday is today actually) and I have 4 kids which Tuck couldn't stop mentioning in amazement in the broadcast last yr lol. Everything I do in poker is for them.. Got started in poker relatively late in life as I've only been playing for 4 years. I've been playing full-time professionally since January when my software engineering job decided that it was time for some downsizing. I grind mostly live PLO cash games on Long Island and in NYC with the occasional stop at Borgata, Parx, and other casinos on the East Coast for a tournament or two as P alluded to.
I believe that integrity and a good reputation are 2 of the most important things you can have in this crazy poker world. I make a habit of not owing anyone anything and when people take pieces of me they get paid promptly with no BS.

As a fellow Sixers fan I sure hope you are right P-aire. I’m definitely encouraged by what they did defensively this year and what lies ahead in the upcoming draft.
I’ll be in Vegas Jun 12-17 for a brief WSOP stint (Monster Stack + Other dailies if needed) and would definitely be interested in meeting up with some fellow TPE’rs and potentially swapping a piece or two. GL everyone

Anyone familiar with rules getting $ back if you register the colossus 4 times but make it through flight 1? im in the rio right now, so i should know, but sadly not one of the 3 people at the cage last night knew if you could get a refund for tourney after it starts(probably not), i.e….you bag in the friday morning session and are registered for the evening session…obviously no way to get to cage before session 2 starts if you bag session one. anyway, i only registered for the 2 morning sessions, wanted to give a heads up for those people who plan on registering all four flights. of course…might be better alternative to perhaps give up $565 than have to wait 5 hours to get in such a +ev tourney. plan on going to cage again this morning, get some clarity on this issue.

yeah, it looks like if you bag flight 1 and are registered for flight 2 you go to a floorman and have them “mark” your flight 2 registration card so cage knows you are entitled to get your $ back…at least that is the explanation I got this evening

According to the instructions from my prereg confrirmation, you have until 1 hour before the tournament to check-in or unregister. In my case, I'm pre-registered for 1a, 1c, and 1d. I plan to check-in for 1a on Thursday but wait until after that flight to check-in for c and d so, if I've chosen to continue with my 1a stack (if I have one), I can get my refunds before 1c starts. Am I right?

okay, i think i have the final answer: you can get refunds for any flights you register for but don't play in but they won't be giving refunds until Sunday after 2pm

Wanna say a HUGE thank you for the TPE meet-up night at PT’s Pub last night. I met some really great people, talked a lot of poker & learnt the art of shuffleboard.
• Derek “Killingbird”after meeting you I can easily see how TPE made it through Black Friday & continues to grow. Your passion & dedication to the TPE nation is clearly apparent.
• Steve, from the Heads-Up podcast, I can’t thank you enough for sharing & reminding me about that chart, I know will take my poker to another level.
• Carlos, was a real pleasure meeting you & I hope I can be a part of backing you for the Main Event, that alone would be a good enough reason to get me onto Twitter.
• Matt Allino, I’m sure some of those below the belt shuffleboard moves would be illegal anywhere other than Nevada. And I really appreciated your suggestions on private coaching too.
• Dylan & Sarah, thanks for the lift to the cab rank at the Palms, was much appreciated.
