Hi everyone just a quick question, recently joined TPE to improve my game and try to grind out of micro mtts.  My question is how applicable to modern poker are some of these university video’s, some of them are more than several years old, people often say that todays game is very different than it was several years ago but i’m wondering if this is really going to affect a game at the micro levels.  Basically is the university still worth it or will I be learning outdated ideas?

Thanks

This thread comes up from time to time. They swapped out a few videos last year I think to address this concern.

The theory videos are more “evergreen,” if you will. Listening to the reasoning behind decisions (raise sizes, etc.) can help you understand how relevant they are in today’s world.

Balancing TPEU with podcasts and newer columns and videos can help you identify the evolution of the game. In some cases, optimal strategy changes based on how others play, while in others “we” are building on what we’ve learned collectively to think about newer concepts. For example, there’s a lot more talk about blockers these days.

And if you see something and wonder whether it’s still relevant, you can always post a thread here.

Thanks for the reply, have jumped into the first TPEU series and really enjoying it, it’s a fun watch and i’ve still picked up a few points where I can see how I would have done something different and why switching it up a bit with their decisions will benefit me.
