Hi Ben

Thx so much for a great series so far. Learning heaps, your insight and knowledge of the game is much appreciated

Your QQ fold was a great laydown. I like you, always second guess myself after the laydown. “Did I lay down the best hand?”  “Maybe I should've called”, “Maybe he was flushing” etc

We obviously will never know, the only time you know is when you make a read, and violate the read and call and then you find out, and I don't know about you, but the times I call against my better judgement, I was right the first time, I shouldn't have called. His line screamed a monster or he missed the flush and bluffed at it. I think it can't be anything else.

Did you send the hand history to bigdog? If so what was his reply?

thx

Donskey

Hi Ben,

was not sure where to post my question, so I just posted it as a comment and in here.

Part 3, in minute 4, in the Big 109.
Would you be raising this small with strong hands like AA or somethin’ or would you be jamming with hands like that?

And in general, do you balance your ranges on these stakes or are you just going for max-EV in every spot, except obv against players you know to be strong?

Thanks

Funnnuraba

Donksey, Yeah it was a really tough fold, i think the third player in the pot influenced the decision further, it is important to go with your read, but it doesnt mean you can´t rethink and change your read, general rule would be just dont click the call button if you really can´t find a good reason to.

Funnnuraba,

i think with AA there on that board im just gonna flat his bet, particularly on such a dry board like that.. 90% of players who are donk leading there are always weak, so i´d rather try to let him keep betting or improve to worse one pair hands. Regarding balancing ranges, its only important if you´re playing with players on your thinking level.. ie only against good regs who you´re likely to encounter alot at the tables..

Hi Ben, I've been a member here for a couple of years and have recently got back to the felt after taking some time away from poker and TPE. I had some time on my hands and so have been watching the videos, good to see a Brit on the TPE roster. Watched the SCOOP series and enjoyed it, learned a lot too. Along with Casey's videos you give a balanced way of playing.

Anyway, better dash, I am deep in the BIG $5.50 on Stars. 5172 entrants and I am in 8th with 110 left. How's that for instant results!
