Wp with AA on the bottom left table early in the video. I think jamming pre scares off JJ. AK is the only hand we can have there where he isn’t absolutely crushed.

Don’t agree with the AA line at all tbh. You’re 3betting out of the SB pre ante and he still 4balls you… just put your chips in. It’s not an awful flat vs an idiot who’s going to spazz hard, but if he’s decent at all and/or knows you then your preflop line is absurdly transparent. As far as postflop, I don’t hate leading small on turn, but checking again could for sure be better. As played, the riv is a friggin must-jam. He checks back flop, flats your turn bet… I mean cmon, range the guy please. He clearly has some showdown value based on his line so far (if he had none and/or was 4balling light pre, which I doubt, but still, he would have just cbet his air on the flop), and he’s not turning stuff like JJ/QQ or w/e into a bluff or for value on that riv… he’s just checking it back sooooo much. You need to hope he heroes you or somehow hit that ace. I also completely disagree that he’s never going to call with something like JJ on the riv there when you jam… even decent-ish regs will just hero you there given that he’s getting a pretty decent price (nothing got there on the riv if you turned some kind of draw).

    just rewatched the hand.

honestly, given the stack depth, i didn’t really expect him to have hands like 88-JJ very often, and figured he could be flatting turn with something like K9s/7X/spades more often than an overpair.

and given that there is only one A left after the river, it’s going to be hard for him to have one, and considering what i think of his range, i don’t hate checking.

definitely an interesting spot. i’m really curious if he was getting AIPF, or just 4betting without a plan. i wouldn’t be surprised at all if he’d 4b/fold JJ.

Pretty sure Muribe is folding to a 5 bet here so I like the flat. Only a total fish would stack off with JJ with this many bb and good players should also be folding QQ. Doubt a player like Hagbard ever decides to get cute out of the SB this early based on the vids I’ve watched.

So you’re 5 betting hoping he only has KK in which case flatting is best anyway.

5 betting and flatting are almost equally transparent except flatting is better because on a low flop you’ll see tons of people talk themselves into continuing with a hand they’d have folded to a 5 bet.

But his range is so narrowed down to mid to high pocket pairs that once a nine high rainbow flop comes I just bet into him for like 60% pot because he isn’t ever folding there unless he 4 bet with AK which I’m discounting anyway since we have 2 Aces.

“Only a total fish would stack off with JJ with this many bb…”

…only a fish would 4b JJ there in the first place. Sure, calling Hagbard’s 5b jam there would, in some respects, be worse, but that’s beside the point… both are pretty awful.

couldn’t agree with you more, masta re: 4betting JJ there.

the reason is that, like i mention in the video, no one ever 5bets light! so you’re effectively turning your JJ into a bluff.

because 4betting there can be so effective, i really thought his range was far weaker than it was, which is why i checked the river hoping he would rep the A.

Right. No argument here. Just saying you’ll get more chips seeing a flop than sticking it in pre. Doubt he ever calls pre. Confident he stacks off on a low flop if we bet differently.

love the 4 tabling live sweats.
although I think that your style is a little bit too tight. I don’t get folding small pairs to a 2xbb open with 40xbb effective in the rebuy period. you are also folding A7 with a perfect resteal stack to a button open but yet you openshove Q8s from the CO with almost 20bb. both shoves are +EV, but the resteal gains you probably 3 times more chips on average.
