At 3mins you have96s and talk about/consider 3 betting.Does not the bb having 9 bb come into the equation…obviously committed to call the bb should he shove?

38:00. I fucking love the check back flop, raise turn line on draw heavy boards with Ax. The idea that you get called by worse and get better to fold there is something I’d never thought of. I think it would work better on slightly smaller boards like T9x and 98x though since a lot of people would 3bet pre with KQ, AQ type hands that make overs and straight draws on JTx. I really do love it though. Cant wait to try it out.

You might even be able to pick off some river bluffs with A high if they flat the turn raise and then donk out since a lot of people would just want to show down or bluff catch themselves if they made one pair. Not sure about that though. Just a thought.

at about 23 mins when you have qq vs cbi on the kj4 flop you said checking the flop is probably best. i like betting the flop here because there are a good amount of jacks in his range here and you have been c betting often enough to get value out of a jack. i like bet flop and almost any turn to extract value from jack hands. he can also have a drawing type hand here, at least a gutshot and giving a free card doesnt seem optimal to me. any spade on the turn you pick up. if you bet and he calls the only cards you dont really like is if the j pairs. and if you check the flop to get value later what can he catch to make him give you chips later?

Ya checking flop def sucks. Betting turn is interesting we have to weigh the benefits of inducing bluffs on the river if we check and the value we’d get from a jack vs getting the value vs a jack now and possible getting draws to call twice. Let me know what u think.

Initially when I made the comment, I was thinking I would not even think about 3 betting with 96s in case the bb woke up with a hand…But now, after you have posed a question , I think 3 betting would largely depend on how aggressive/tight the big blind hand been/is. To me a 3 bet with 96s(with a bb with 9bb still to act) would look strong , if I were the initial raiser and make me fold hands that maybe I would not fold if the 9bb was not in the picture. I suppose the generally, I would tighten up my 3 betting range knowing the bb had 9bb. I would welcome you thoughts on what I have said Daryl and anything else you think I should consider if faced with a similar situation. Thanks. Dave

the way it played out i like betting the turn and making him call, especially if he is a tighter player because i dont think he is going to random bluff bet the river too often right? i think best line starting with flop is to bet flop, then reassess oon turn. if a spade hits the turn then maybe a check because id rather control the pot size if a flush was possible. also, if it does come spade on turn the you pick up 2nd nut flush draw and maybe if the 4th spade falls and you checked turn that can induce a bluff. that was hypothetical, but the turn that actually came out was a total brick so i say def bet it. i think any jack combo pays off at least 1 bet, a draw probably pays off both bets unless its some weird gut shot or something where he just wanted to peel one and if the river is a card we dont like he could check trying to induce abet and we can check it. so my fav line is bet flop, bet most turns, check river. if a 9 or and ace or spade falls on river and he bets into us then we have to reassess again. but i think betting the flop and turn helps us to control the pot and puts him into check call mode, if we check the turn and spade falls on river and he bets big its hard not to call because we didnt rep any strength on turn but if river is bad and we bet flop and turn and he bets i think we have enough info and reppped our hand enough to probably fold. sorry i rambled a bit
