im a little unclear on ICM and chip chop scenarios…how is it calculated and what’s better for different stacks at the FT?

    Short version explanation:
ICM: gives a value for your chips, better for shorter stacks. In a 5 way deal, lock’s each player up for 5th place money and splits the rest of the pz pool by chips.
Chip Chop: Splits the prize pool by the % of chips each player has, favor’s the bigger stacks.
Almost everywhere/everyone uses ICM now; chip chops are pretty much outdated other than pokerstars…..

    Congrats on the huge score.
Amazed how tight you played over course of whole tournament, barely a steal or cbet bluff to be seen – this is NOT meant as criticism, only observation, do whatever works!

Do you think playing this way you actually had an edge over the field?
If so what constituted this edge – you turned down a lot of small +ev spots, for the sake of reducing variance, so aren’t you then relying on your opponents making large mistakes? Are there really enough soft spots in this field or do other regs have a very different perception of your playing style?

Thanks, yes I don’t know if I have ever played a tournament so “tight”; the structure of the event with 30 min blinds and the aggressive play of most of the field enabled it to work for me in this tourney.
Yes I was mostly counting on my opponents to make mistakes which they continued to do; and there weren’t really that many “reg’s” that I was playing against in this event that I have a lot of history with. And even if there were, I think I change (and have changed) my style of play enough to keep them guessing….I’m going to have to may like a maniac for a few weeks after these video’s I guess to balance šŸ™‚
In all seriousness I really think “table image” is way over rated; most players are just looking at their cards not thinking about how their opponents are playing.

I could be wrong, but I think Kalle was calling in that QJ/K6 spot for information, not necessarily for value.
