Good work Nate. I was wondering how you keep such accurate notes and just read a previous members question who asked the same thing. I guess it makes your image at the table strong also when they notice you taking notes & building a stack to back up the fact you have a read on the whole table? Great series anyway.

Yes, did you use an audio recorder, periodically getting up from the table to record (à la Gus Hanson)? I also liked the video series. It is very refreshing to hear unabated and balanced self-critique. Of course, I am naturally curious as to how you fared Day 2 (and beyond…?). bc

One nice thing about the Main Event is that pretty much everyone there is trying to play well and expects everyone else to be trying to play well. Nobody thinks too much of it when they see me taking notes. At other tournaments I have to be more discreet.

I use pen and paper; that’s faster and more convenient for me.
I wound up min-cashing. I’ll go through my Day 2 hands in some form at some point. Glad you’re interested!

I enjoyed this series, thank you; nonetheless, I think your lecture would be easier to follow, and visually appealing if you used a re-player, such as “ShareMyPair.”

Thanks for the note, Quadzilla. I agree that good software would help me here. That said, I am hesitant to use a product commercially without being sure that it’s permissible under its license. Most hand replayers are not so licensed. (I am having a hard time telling either way for ShareMyPair.)
