You say that we would bet river about half pot no matter what in this case. So in this situation if we didn’t hit the flush we would have lost almost all our stack and we are ok with that? He folds better hands than us often enough to make it worth it? I am sometimes tempted to take the “free” card when I can with a draw, but that might be wrong.

Its been more than 6 months since you posted your comment but i just found the video and may try answer your concerns.
You’re right, that in this particular hand we wouldve lost almost our entire stack if the flushdraw didnt come in on the river, but in most cases his hand wont be strong enough to make the river call and we would compensate our lack of showdownvalue with a good amount of fold equity. I think longterm this play is definately profitable, of course depending on opponents stats. If hes an ubernit its pretty clear that he has a kind of strong hand and is more likely to call the riverbet. But this dude seemed to have pretty wild stats so theres a lot of hands he couldve held wich are not strong enough to risk almost HIS entire stack. Our betting line did look strong for sure.
