Thank you for another excellent video Andrew. Found it interesting that you said vulcano probably should not be calling (preflop) with 44 or 66. In his shoes aren’t you calling pre with those hands vs a UTG+1 (or any position for that matter) given you are playing 400bbs deep.

Depends who the UTG1 raiser is. Against a good player, no. You will rarely win the pot without a set, and you will not win a big pot with a set often enough to recoup your pre-flop investment. Just because you have 400BB doesn’t mean you can assume you will win 400BB, or anywhere close to it, when you make a set. In fact, if you make a set of 4s and 400BBs go into the pot after the flop against anyone other than a fish, you are probably behind.
