I dont think your ready to be making videos, I did not gain much from this video besides if I run across you at the tables. I dont mean any disrespect, just feel that this video was pretty bad.

i disagree from “pot_sniper” I learned some things. and its good to see some of the hands the hagbard was not in with analysis from him. With that said I learn alot from watching videosbecause there is no one way to play this game. Keep the vids coming good job

Telling one of the resident pro’s he’s not ready to make videos? Run your mouth about how you dream of beating him then say no disrespect? Instead of showing how little you know and the maturity of a 12yr old, next time try pointing out an actual spot in the vid that was poorly played or explained. I wouldn’t expect your posts to get too much respect if you keep flapping like this.

I want to hear what you’ll do when you open 44 from EP when someone 3bets you. If you fold then is it worth opening 44? If you get flatted you’re in horrible shape. If you’re open folding then can you reasonably open any 2?

While I really appreciate the support, Krul, everyone is entitled to their opinion.

You are absolutely right, though, that to give more constructive criticism might actually benefit everyone in that it gives me the opportunity to correct specific mistakes, and everyone the opportunity to learn from them.

We aim to make videos for all level of poker player, and sometimes we are going to fall short. You can’t please everyone. I just hope that pot_sniper is able to find some videos that he does find helpful.

Thanks again for the support. <3

Mostly would be raise/folding the 44. And you are right that there are definitely better hands to be opening from EP. I’d imagine that if I opened I felt that the gameflow+my image was such that I felt an open was OK.

So yes, in a sense, when these conditions are such you can open a wide range of hands. Not ATC, but certainly stuff like 44/T9o/etc.

I’m curious about a hand very early in this vid, about the 4:40 mark. The blinds are 500/1k/125. Cairns1987 min-raises UTG+1. Jymaster11 re-raises small to 4295. Everyone else folds and Cairns shoves nearly 38 BBs; Jymaster calls. Cairns turns over KQo vs. 99, putting Cairns on the wrong end of a 55-45 flip. Cairns ends up winning the hand by sucking out with a riv 4-flush.

Hagbard, you said you thought this was a “standard play.”

Perhaps I’m missing something here. Having watched Jymaster play so far during the vids the only hand where he showed that he might be light is the hand he called a short stack with JTo. He didn’t attempt to re-steal/shove with that stack, he called a shove. Jymaster wasn’t getting out of line previously. He seemed to be properly aggressive, taking advantage of position, the aggression or lack thereof of players to his left, and considering the stacks and style of play of the players behind him.

Cairns, in this hand, is in decent stack position with 37 BBs, and even if he folds leaving him a stack of 35868 with the blinds about to go up to 600/1.2K, he still has nearly 30 BBs when the blinds go up.

    I see his shove as spewy-absolutely awful/foolish; something I would see a the micro-levels where I play.

Please help me understand what made the play “standard” as this may well be a leak in my own game as I perceive other player’s moves and act in accordance with them… thanks.

could you explain more as to why you wouldn’t check back the 86 hand against Cairns when the flop came 988. You’ve already said he is very aggresive so wouldn’t you think he would fire on the turn once the flop goes check check. Wouldn’t a check likely gain you one bet from him and possibly two depending on the turn river?
    thanks

I’m also somewhat confused about that hand. Not only the shove by Cairns, but also the call by Jymaster with 99. Both plays are such high-variance plays!

Jymaster’s call might be +ChipEV, +2BB with a range of 66+,AQs+,AKo for Cairns. I would definitely fold 99 here even considering the wild image of Cairns.

I don’t see how Cairns shove ever can be +EV tournamentwise, when called he is always behind and risk elimination. Is Jymaster 3bet folding enough, so that the increase of Cairns stack from 36K to 45K, make this risk worth taking? For me it’s a call or fold.

i probably shouldn’t have called the play standard, but both are very good players, and so i guess i gave them the benefit of the doubt that there was enough history between them for cairns (muckducks) to not be able to fold KQ and jymaster to not be able to 3b/f 99.

i think muckduck’s stack is perfectly fine to 4b jam, and if he thinks that jymaster is light then KQ is a fine hand to do it with.

in jymaster’s shoes, you have a maniac like muckducks you can’t be 3betting 99 there to fold. if you think his 4betting range is so tight that you have to fold 99, then you should flat, but it isn’t.

i think meso makes a good point, though. jymaster had been pretty in line so perhaps the 4bet was spew. it certainly wouldn’t be his first time spewing!

i’ll definitely check back there some of the time, but i’m also going to be betting in that spot when checked to a ton of the time with nothing so i need to be able to have strong hands as well.

and while i don’t expect his flop checking range to be strong at all, i can see him checking some hands with showdown value and calling a bet and against someone as splashy as muckducks, giving him the opportunity to spew is always good.
