So, I just finally returned from Europe after being away for about a month.  Even though nothing went right, I’m glad to be home and excited to grind FTOPS/SCOOP. After San Remo, my friend, Joe Serock (floes online), and I took a mini-trip to Amsterdam before EPT Montecarlo started. It was the first time I’d ever been there and was really awesome.  We rented bikes and were able to get pretty much wherever we wanted on bikes alone. I really like the way the city is layed out in such a way. Bikes outnumber cars very easily and it just seems to be a very friendly atmosphere.  Saw the Anne Frank house and enjoyed the sites (and smells) but only was able to stay for three nights. Sitting in a Motel 6 in Columbia, MO, getting ready to jump back in the car and drive to Erie, PA or Buffalo, NY, or somewhere thereabouts. That will leave us with a 6-8 hour drive to Vermont on Saturday and get us there sometime in the late afternoon or early evening. We’ve entered that stage of this drive where the landscape has taken a turn for the boring. No longer are we winding through mountain passes and just generally driving through an epic landscape that still has a bit of a feeling of being a fronteir and somewhat untouched. The midwest is pretty thoroughly developed and much of it you can’t really tell from the rest of it. Man i don’t like to dwell on close calls but in the last two days I’ve finished 3/81 for a WSOP seat and 2/81 for a WSOP seat in the nightly FTP Double Shootout satellites. On Sunday night I was never really a big factor at the second table but somehow found myself 3 handed with an 8k stack vs a 100k and 40k stack. Miraculously, I went on a little run and was up to 40k when I ran 88 into KK bvb. 3 handed i’m never folding a pair so I chalk it up to a cooler. Last night was much more disappointing. I’m pretty frustrated with my results as of late.  I seem to be running deep in quite a few tourneys and then just not being able to finish strong.  I’m not sweating it too hard though because I’m getting mentally prepared for SCOOP which I intend to crush. I’m especially looking forward to the two $22 events on Sunday, one of which is a 2-day event.  Should be good times, good structures and a lot of soft spots. I’ll me playing a pretty light schedule until then.  Busy week at work, and things with the site are growing fast, so that is keeping all of us here busy. Woke up this morning and immediately got to work packing. It only took an hour or so. Packed everything up into boxes, packed my computer and dropped everything off at the UPS Store. I’ll recieve everything on the 4th, so I’ll only have to play the first couple days of SCOOP without the Battle Station. Although Tahoe is rather boring and has basically no culture to speak of–or at least not the type of stuff I dig. No movie houses or live music I’m into. Really all I did was snowboard, cook and play poker. Walked my roommates dog a lot. I am going to miss it, though. I love that I learned to snowboard. Well its a Sunday. And to boot its a ftops Sunday. Then throw in the fact that AP has a few extra tournys today including a 1k heads up. I am looking at buy ins in excessive of 12000 today. Sounds like good times. Hopefully we find ourselves on a run good day today. Its also 2 of my favourite ftops  today including the one I won. The 300 dollar freeze out. 1.25 million guaranteed. Its also the 500 dollar heads up ftops I got 4th in that one last time it was played. So hopefully we can pull off some of that Sunday magic today.  Good luck to all TPE peeps on the felts today. Ahhhh the last few weeks have just been pure hell. As I mentioned in my article on downswings I’m in the middle of one over the past six weeks or so. It started right after I FT’d and took 5th in the Sunday 500 at the end of February. Since then I just haven’t been able to win anything for the life of me. Today was no different. It looked like I might snap out of it for a minute as I built a stack and made a deep run in the FTOPS $500 6-max PLO event. Unfortunately, though, I lost a medium-sized pot to bring me down to ~20BB and then the blinds went up and I ended up getting my 12BB in with AAxx against AKQTds on a J99 flop and an 8 turned to knock me out [More...]

Hey guys excited for FTOPS tomorrow? I am that’s for sure. A little disappointed tho. I had what I thought were extremely fair prop bets worked out with fellow TPE pros Hagbard Celine and Jon Wein. However, on the eve of the FTOPS both have failed to get back to me and take me up on my challenge. I mean I figured between the two of them one of them would find their sack somewhere and man up. But alas it does not look like it will happen. I guess I will have to be satisfied with winning a FTOPS event. Gl everyone. Bigdogpckt5s
