The WSOP is a funny thing. Weeks leading up to the flight out and first few events are filled with excitement and anticipation.

Then you find yourself in the RIO, grinding a 15-20BB stack without antes, hour-long levels and people hollywooding every hand, hemming and hawing like the people on TV and realize that it is going to be a very long summer.

My results thus far have been underwhelming. I’ve made a few dinner breaks, and am accumulating chips well. However, I’m not doing very well in pots that go to showdown, and as they say, the all-in move works every time but once.

I had plans to update this blog after each event, but the fact is that I have very little interest to do so.

I’ve been having a lot of fun though.

Last weekend HITTHEPANDA got into town and on Saturday we went to Lake Mead and rented a boat which was amazing.

Ryan is staying another week, and there aren’t a lot of events this week so I’ll just be playing a lot online.

If Ipods are ever disallowed in live poker events I’ll definitely retire from live. If it weren’t for the fact that I can just sit and listen to good music while I watch people tank to a 12BB shove after opening for 4.5x the BB as if the fate of the Universe lay in the balance then I’m not sure I could take it.

Today I listened to a ton of Bibio. He’s a British musician who I’d never heard of until a few months ago but he has released several albums in the past couple years and his shit is jamtastic.
