I've signed up today – why?

I am a 30 year old married man who has his own business here in Australia and plays poker as a hobby. I love the game. I've had some success both live and online, nothing major, though I am about break-even over the past few years. As it does each year, the WSOP gets me excited about poker and as opposed to jumping head first in to online poker again (I only play at pokerstars), I thought I change tact and actually invest in learning from professionals so as to gain some sort of edge over some of the players at the table.

What enticed me to sign here?

Without pissing in his pocket, site pro Casey 'bigdogpck5s” Jarzabek was the main reason. From afar I've followed Casey and I rail him (silently I might add) when he gets deep in some of the bigger online tournaments. I guess the attraction is the fact he is a little older than the standard online poker player and like I, he is a big unit. The value for money ($19.95 a month) is sensastional as well, especially minus the sign up fee that some charge. I also like that I get the opportunity to be part of a new community that is only in it's infancy.

Thanks for reading, I look forward to making some new poker buddies and improving my game with you all.

Thanks for the welcome JDog.

Given you're a moderator here, I might direct a question at you. Where does one start? I'd imagine it would be recommended to take in all videos given one should be able to do as such in a short period of time?

Well  first I would say all the videos are great.  Some of the early ones have a little issues with audio being low but thats been corrected. I would watch Bigdogs Early stage video, then his middle stage series. You can then jump around because there are a lot of late stage videos. Also watch the theory vids, well worth the time.  Start posting in the forums. You really cant go wrong starting anywhere for that matter. I would suggest you watch a video then give it a week or so and rewatch it, you always pick something else up.
