Hey guys,

Great website, enjoy the articles and vids they help alot, just wanted advice on when I should move up in MTT tourneys.

Mainly play on Absolute Poker, check me out “STARKZ” since Feb. Ave buyin around12, cashed in 200k and few others a couple of times.

I have a decent bankroll from the minor success I've had, but how much do you think I need to be able to handle say $50+ and sat into others consistently, based on my stats and profit??

Quite frankly im sick of the donks at the 5-10 level lol but want to be able to handle the Variance of this wonderful game that is poker!

Thanks!

The rule of thumb is to maintain a bankroll that is 200x your  average buyin.  With that in mind you can take some shots but I wouldn't take shots much higher than 2.5x your ABI and do them very infrequently.  let's say you have a 2000 bankroll that should be about $10abi.  I'd keep my shots to about 33 and only do them once or twice out of every 50 tourneys.

It's very nitty but the variance in MTTs is ridic.  I personally keep my ABI to 250x and my shots to about 2.5x-3x but only once a week or so.
