hey rfb/killingbird.

i have a question – how do you guys record your podcasts?

i am quite involved with a pub poker league in australia, …..8pl.com.au, and their forum …..rum.com.au, and we are about to start up a podcast, mostly containing 888pl news etc (so nothing that would interfere with what you are doing)

do you guys just use skype? it is hard for all of us to get in the same place at the same time, so just wondering how you do it, as its obvious the pros etc are in a different location, but you guys make it sound great.

(there is a possibility that i could get a spot for TPE advertising but i am not sure that you guys would even want to do that given that it would be a very small and amateur podcast and it would probably be a bad idea to associate with us 😀 )

Hey Benny.  We do use skype.  And we use a program called Pamela to record.  KB handles the tech of the podcast so i'll defer to him with the details when he returns.

first of all, we would love to advertise.  PM me and we'll talk rates. Probably cant spent a ton, but Ill throw some dollars your way!

As Diego said…we use skype and then record the skype calls with Pamela.

Then I simply drop the sound files recorded with Pamela in to a free program called Audacity. Audacity looks intimidating when you first start working with it, but it actually is pretty easy once you get the hang of it and there are tons of tutorials on YouTube about how to use it.

Hit me up any time if you need any help!

got another question for you guys about bumper music

do you guys have to pay royalties for it, and do you know what the general law is regarding a small intro?

i know if you play a full song you definitely have to pay royalties but from the research i have been doing, im not really sure about intro/outros.
