For a future series….can you ‘run it again’ using a late position vs BB? These seem to come up more often than the UTG vs BB. I have a guess why Ac4x donks more than Ac3x, Ac2x; it has a back door straight draw with the 4, giving you 6 more turn cards to bet.

Good guess! That’s certainly an idea worth pursuing. I will say though that an advantage of doing UTG v BB is that differences between the ranges are more stark, UTG’s range is better defined, and the processing power required is lower (because ranges are narrowers). My goal isn’t really to teach you how to play BB vs UTG, it’s to make broader points about what drives factors like c-bet frequency, check-raise frequency, etc. The value IMO of comparing to LP play is to see how these numbers change when the PFR’s range gets weaker (BB’s range should get weaker as well, but not as dramatically), not just to say “OK now here’s how to play when you’re LP vs BB”.

Of course. I wasn’t taking the videos as a recipe; more to learn concepts (I used your polarized overbet on the turn the day after I saw it!). It’s also very tempting to get a PIO, but I fear I might not make inferences nearly as well as you do. Seems like the program should have a BIG sign saying “Use with caution”.

The BB will have more combos of Ax than UTG in absolute terms yet is not donking A high flops, presumably because BB also all those other non Ax combos? So really what matters is the relative percentage of Ax in the respective ranges?
