Nice video Matt, I always appreciate these live sweat videos, it’s great to see how you pro’s think during random situations. Thanks again!

Why do you say you shouldn’t play turbo’s? I can imagine ROI is lower, but isn’t that off-set by the faster pace of the tournaments and as such hourly rate?

Thanks guys! Sorry it’s taken me so long to get around to answering questions.

When it comes to not playing turbos, the ROI is massively lower than non-turbos, and it’s almost impossible to compensate by playing more of them unless you’re mass-tabling SNGs, which is nowhere near as profitable as it used to be. In low-stakes turbos it’s probably possible to hit a 25-30% ROI if you’re really good at push-fold, but above a certain buyin level 5-10% is the highest you’ll really get. I did a SharkScope search on a combined player group of the P5s top 100 players at one point and they had a combined ROI of like 7% in turbos above the $30 buyin level. Just not worth the variance.

Great video, really enjoyed it! I realized I was playing WAY too tight is spots where a bounty was involved. Assigning a chip value to each bounty is a great way to think through a situation. Thanks Matt!
