Been a while since I have blogged to figured I had better knock one out. Between playing and working on TPE things have been so busy I’ve had little time for anything else. TPE has been amazing. Super proud of the podcast we have created and think it will only get better with time. The feedback has been amazing and to hear people say things like, “the best poker podcast” is really rewarding. If you have not already checked it out, here is a link: https://www.tournamentpokeredge.com/podcasts/ And tell a friend!
As for poker, things have not been great but not terrible either. I’m on about a 50 buy-in downswing at the average buy-in tournaments I play. It’s not all that unusual but this one has been a little more frustrating because of several near misses. 12th in the $15K GTD on Full Tilt, an 8th place finish in the Daily Double A, 36th in the $35K GTD on Full Tilt, 21st in the Fifty Fifty, 2 final tables in the AP $2k, etc. Unfortunately I’ve been unable to crack a win, hence the downswing. But I feel like I am playing better, especially after watching some of my $10r that I recorded back around the time that we launched TPE. Bigdog and TTwist are doing an upcoming “Stick It To The Man” series on it and it’s pretty shocking some of the bad plays I make. But that’s all good….part of getting better!
In other poker news, I will be heading to Atlantic City for the WSOP Circuit Event at Harrahs. Will be good to see some of the TPE crew and members up there. And, of course, looking forward to playing some live poker! I’m playing the first 5 events ($300, $500, $200, $300, $200) and these should be some SUPER soft fields, so should be good times. Also, my second favorite bar is there. http://www.theirishpub.com/ If you have never been there while in AC, make sure and stop in and say hello to the bartender John. He is the man.
In terms of life outside of poker, I am heading to South Carolina this weekend to hang out with one of my oldest friends. Joe was the drummer in my band in college and we shared some amazing times. Can’t wait to see him and his family. And then next week I am going to spend two days at the Internet Summit here in Raleigh. http://www.internetsummit.com/ The panelists, speakers and sessions look pretty awesome and looking forward to finding out about the latest and greatest in the internet marketing world. Then I will be off to the Outer Banks to spend some time with family for Thanksgiving. The OBX is my favorite place on the planet, so going there is always a bright spot!
