Andrew Brokos continues his live hand history review. In part 4, he begins day 2 and focuses on dealing with donk bets. The key is to consider your overall range and the odds you are getting to be sure that you aren’t folding too much. In part 5, he focuses on exploiting a particular player with common predicatable tendencies.

Cory Waaland brings us a hand history review of a Bovada tournament. This one is pretty cool because we can see all the hole cards. In part 1, he is short for most of the video but does a good job of maintaining his stack while waiting for a good spot. In part 2, he finally builds a stack but unfortunately the blinds increase rapidly to put him back into ninja mode.

Matt Hunt brings us a Stop & Go hand where he check raises the flop with a good draw and a plan to shove any turn. The key to this play is recognizing that the aggressor likely has a weak capped range.

The article this week is about understanding in detail the make up of your opponent’s range. We often know when someone is strong or weak and tend to settle on the hands that are at the extremes of that spectrum. Matt reminds us to look past our emotions and fears to analyze which hands are more likely on a given street and to account for the possibility of error in our reads.

KB and Matt Hunt are back this week with another episode of the Midstakes Living podcast. Their guest is Elliot Roe. His is a hypnotherapist who helps poker players play their A games more often. I found it interesting that many of the problems we face on the felt can be linked to deep seated childhood issues.
