We have arrived in Las Vegas for a summer of poker! Marc, Danny, Casey and I have settled in to the house. We had some "technical difficulties" with internet and what not the first couple of days but everything seems to be solid now. The house is really nice, and it's great having a pool this year. Great way to wake up or cool down after a long day of grinding.

I'm sweating Marc right now on Twitter as he is the chipleader of the first Venetian Deepstack event. Bubble just broke so hopefully he can make a nice run! Would be a great way to kick off the summer and I would be super stoked for him.

I played the event as well and made a pretty nice run busting about 30 people before day 1a ended. I was down to 3K chips at 100/200 ante so to have 60K before dinner was great for me. Unfortunately right before dinner I lost a pretty big pot where I flatted a MP raise in the BB with ATss. Flop came down T high and check called the flop and turn. River made a 5 a straight and the villain overbet shoved for like 40K in to a 20K pot…I tanked for a LONG time and finally folded. He showed a set of 7s, so good fold, but sucked to lose that many chips before dinner. I came back to like 28 BBs and about an hour later I check jammed the turn on an AJQx board with AJ and they guy tanked and finally nit rolled me with AQ. Meanwhile i was, of course, begging for a call once he tanked. Frustrating way to bust, but still felt like I played well all day and feel very confident about what the summer holds.

I'll be sure to update my blog regularly. And make sure to tune in to the TPE Live podcast for more in depth updates!
