I thought I would take a few minutes to throw out some writing while I am watching the end of Mini FTOPs #32. Right now xxsosickxx is bossing the hell out of the tournament and it is awesome to see him succeed like this. I think that poker is such a lonely solo affair that making friends in the game is a huge accomplishment, but being happy and proud of their accomplishments is that much harder, but so rewarding. There aren't a lot of players that I consider myself good friends with, but are some of the TPE guys that I just plain respect and enjoy watching.
So if I can offer any advice it is to find genuine friends within the game, it makes it a lot more enjoyable. Poker can be an isolating affair where you spend so much time doubting yourself, your ability, being solo lost inside your mind trying to analyze and understand. Finding others that can understand this, who are willing to talk with you and who are just good honest folks that are fun and relaxing to talk to within the game is rare, take every advantage to find them.
