Well the weekend is over for me, didn't get in as much as I would have liked at the tables, but hey it can't all go my way now can it. Friday night was a little cash game at the firehouse. Nothing serious, nothing special, just some quality time with the guys drinking, laughing and playing. I can't actually tell you how much I won or lost, or what time I got home, or a whole lot of what happened after about 11:30 at night. I did learn that when my wife picked me up she was pissed, she went to bed pissed at me and woke up annoyed. Must have been a good night 🙂 Thankfully it is a monthly routine and usually not this out of hand so its all good!

Saturday was some more quality time at the tables on Merge. I was at the cash tables and ended up even which was annoying, dumped a buyin late in the session due to some stupid play but hey, what is this game if not a constant learning experience. I'm just learning 1 buyin at a time! Played the 2.20 HA tourney to mixed results, ended up bricking a couple of really big draws in PLO which put me in some crappy spots and short so it didn't go as deep as I would have liked. I played the Dazzler on Merge (1r) which was the biggest field I have played on Merge this far at just about 200 people. Managed a 20th place finish out of it, but had really done a solid job of working a short stack up. I really feel that I should have FT'd it, but hey sometimes it doesn't go your way.

Was going to play today, but I seemed to have developed a slight ear infection so I haven't been feeling 100%. If I have learned anything in the last year or so of focused play it is that if you aren't feeling solid and mentally/physically/emotionally prepared to play, DON'T. If you aren't ready, don't do it. There is no reason to punt stacks and buyins because you don't feel good or aren't thinking clear. No reason to do it.

I'm on the road this week for work which is kind of a bummer. Not terribly excited about living out of a hotel away from home, but it needs to be done and so it will. I'm debating if I am going to lug the personal PC down so I can sit and get some grinding time in, but I think I am going to end up just bringing some books and vids with me or the last option is to take a week off from the game and just cheer on all of the folks at the WSOP. We'll see how i'm feeling, if it is like today then i'm going to take the time off and just cheer on the gang in Vegas and recoup. Oh well, time to hit the sack, gotta be on the road early tomorrow. This is the Gman signing out!
