2016 is off to a great start! We started the year by heading off to the Bahamas with my good friends Carlos Welch and Danny Noseworthy for the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure. I really did not go down intending to play very much poker while there, and I really didn’t.  I played one SNG, which Carlos shipped. And I played two $300 turbos, which were fun but did not go particularly well.

BagBlogMy real goal for going was to accomplish a ton of TPE business. Take some meetings, do a little bit of networking and create some cool content.  I think we definitely accomplished all of those. One of the highlights was definitely the PokerStars party, and not just because it was the only time the whole trip that I was not paying $8 for a beer!  Danny made a couple of nice runs including a big cash in the LAPT Main Event and it was also fun to rail Justin Ouimette deep in the PCA Main Event.

Also got to meet a ton of cool new people, and of course hang with a bunch of old friends from the poker world.  The only downside of the trip was that it pretty much rained non-stop while we were there. I dont really recall ever seeing the sun.  However, we also almost never left the casino so it was not the end of the world. While there, we recorded a pretty fun episode of the Tournament Poker Edge Live podcast, so you should  check that out!

If you have never gotten to take in PCA, I definitely encourage you to do it…at least once!

In other good news, we managed to erase the ENTIRE downswing that we were on.  After a long spell of running pretty bad (and perhaps not playing our best either) we finally found a heater!  We had a few nice ships including a $10K GTD on Bovada and a $10K GTD on Carbon.  We are still not winning at the rate I feel we should be on ACR, but let’s face it, that is the tougher of the US facing sites for sure, and I do not really put in a ton of volume there. So it is what it is, the binks will come!BlogPhoto

We have continued to enjoy our time streaming on Twitch. It’s pretty cool to see how much my channel has grown in the last few months. If you have not come by and checked it out yet, you should!  We keep it super chill and frankly do not spend a ton of time talking strategy. We mostly just enjoy a few cold beers and grind in the company of good peeps.

Now of course, the big focus is planning for the World Series of Poker. Time to start looking at booking travel, getting the house all arranged, figuring out what tournaments to play and we will have a booth at the Rio this year, so that adds a whole other level of work to take care of. Looking forward to it in a very big way though! Hope to see some of you guys out there!!

I have a few days off coming up as my son is coming home from college to watch the Superbowl.  So he will arrive Thursday and I probably will not grind from them until Monday when he heads back to school. So until then, good luck and ship all of the money!
