Some of you may know that before I was in the “poker industry” I was in the “music industry”. Well, tonight I had the awesome opportunity to play poker with some of my oldest friends. Thew band Emery is rolling through town, and they had a night off. So after enjoying a few beers at Lonerider Brewing Company we retired to my basement for a little poker action!
I won’t bore you with the stakes, but let’s just say they were not big. That being said, I had the most fun I have had playing poker in AGES! Why you ask? Because everyone was there to have a great time. Did we want to take each others money? Damn right we did! But most importantly we wanted to have a great time. And a great time was had!
I feel fortunate that these dudes are still a part of my life after over a decade. Tomorrow I get to see them play live for the first time in several years and I cannot wait! They are still doing what they love. And I’m stilling doing what I love. And even though those things are quite different, for tonight we found a way to bring it all together. And even though I lost $16 in the process, I would give that much to get to play poker with these dudes every night!
