2015 is shaping up to be the “Year of Close Calls and Near Misses”.  I’ve been on a nice upswing over the last couple of months, which is always hard to complain about. That being said, it is hard not to think back to some of the deep runs that fizzled, and what could have been. I finished 18th in the recent Million Guaranteed on America’s Card Room after being 3/20 at one point. That same day I finished 23rd in the 100K on Bovada after losing AQ to KQ all in preflop for 2nd in chips. Then yesterday I lose AA to 99 all in preflop with ~50 left in the $105K GTD on America’s Card Room for what would have put me 4th in chips. Variance is real, and though those runs are a bit disappointing, I feel like I have shaken them off well and continued to grind and play well.

I’ve been doing a lot more studying the last month or so than I think I ever have in my poker career. Have been doing a ton of HH reviews, and sending off hands to plays I respect for their feedback and opinions. I feel like I am playing great as the World Series of Poker approaches! I will be there for only a month this time, but will play in 7 preliminary events plus the Main Event. Should be another fun summer!

In case you have missed it, I have also been streaming quite a bit on Twitch. It’s been a lot of fun, and helps make the grind a bit more exciting and engaging. I don’t get in to a ton of strategy, but treat it more like entertainment and it seems like people are dogging it.  Check out my Twitch page and throw me a follow so you know when I go live.

The next month or two is going to be crazy busy with a lot of family stuff going on, but I will definitely still find time to grind.

Hope you are all running well, and I look forward to seeing you guys at the tables!
