This was an exciting week at Tournament Poker Edge indeed. We had a podcast with several site announcements and some great new video content. Oh yeah, the Nation had several deep runs as well.

RonFezBuddy and Killingbird are back with a marathon podcast. This thing is jammed packed with exciting announcements. First of all one of the owners/pros, Tim “TTwist” Kelly, was promoted to General Manager of TPE. His first order of business was to get the ball rolling on TPE University and bring me, Carlos “Loxxii” Welch, on as a forum moderator. The guys discuss all the awesome new things going on at TPE and bring Marc Alioto on to discuss some hands.

Merge High Roller Hand History Review by Marc Alioto

https://www.tournamentpokeredge.com/merge-high-roller-hand-history-review-by-marc-alioto-part-3/

Marc finished off his $215 Merge High Roller series where he put on an aggression clinic. He fights for every pot and points out how important it is to win pots other players don’t. This is how all the sickos consistently find themselves on final tables time and again. Within the first 5 minutes Marc plays a hand where he bluff shoves the river with third pair with seemingly no fold equity. The hand was discussed on the latest podcast. Check them both out.

Final Table Bubble WCOOP Deep Run Hand History Review with Andrew Brokos

https://www.tournamentpokeredge.com/final-table-bubble-wcoop-deep-run-hand-history-review-with-andrew-brokos-part-1/

Andrew Brokos is back with a new series where he goes into a deep analysis of the final table bubble from his WCOOP deep run. I am a former math teacher and the highest compliment I ever got from a student at the end of a lesson is when they understood everything and had no questions. Andrew explains everything concisely and thoroughly. This is not like a typical poker video. It is more like a visual version of a poker book entitled Stack Size Exploitation. I cannot wait for the rest of this series.

$5r Hand History Review with Daryl “aaaaaaaa” Jace

https://www.tournamentpokeredge.com/5r-hand-history-review-with-daryl-aaaaaaaa-jace-part-1/

Daryl Jace is back with his first solo vid in a while. He is reviewing a $5r rebuy he played which is so awesome for those of us that play low stakes. We always wonder how the moves sickos make in the nosebleeds would work at a fish fry. Jace gives a key piece of advice, “these guys probably make pretty terrible calls postflop so I think I should try and exploit that rather than trying to exploit their aggression which they don’t seem to have.”

Forum

Strategy

Both hands this week are from the WSOP Main Event.

Clark206 has an interesting thread about what to do with a turned combo draw that bricks out on the river multiway in Level 9. This hand made the podcast.

Rivermen123 has a thread where he check raises the turn with a monster draw and barrels big on the river when it bricks out in Level 1. Now that takes heart. What a sicko.

TPE University

Yes, you read that right. TPE University is currently accepting students. Well, not exactly. It will be ready to go live in a couple of weeks, but TPE members can beta test it today. I think it looks super promising.

How to Deal With Poker Downswing

The title speaks for itself. We are all either in a downswing, coming out of one, or can expect one at some point in the future. In this way, poker is a metaphor for life. You can choose to either throw a pity party when it happens or you can read this article to learn how to roll with the punches.
