Hey guys and gals! I see a lot of poker players blogs and a lot of them have a similar theme the last couple weeks. And that's goals and ambitions for the upcoming year. I figured I would do something I don't normally do and write a blog.

I'm a pretty well spoken guy but I usually don't put a lot of thoughts down in blogs because spelling and grammar and the bigodgpckt5s are just not compatible. But I figure every once in a while ill just snerk it and put some thoughts down on paper.

As most of you reading this blog probably know, this past year I was busy with my son who just turned 1 year old on Dec 18th. It has been an amazing year and I can literally say that that little boy has become my life. He has such an amazing personality even at this young age that I can't imagine life without him. So obviously with him my poker volume swung to an all time low. Which I have absolutely zero regrets about. I wouldn't change anything. However, in 2013 I have a renewed vigor and desire to start crushing the game again. I can't reasonably say my volume will hit the heights it did in 2009 and 2010, but it will go up significantly from 2012.

Just before the end of 2012, me and most of the Tournament Poker Edge owners took a trip out to Atlantic City for some circuit events. I final tabled a 500 player field, came up short of winning the tourney but that definitely got the blood flowing again. I remembered how much I enjoy the game. And not just enjoy the game. Enjoy winning. Throughout my childhood and adult life I have always been absurdly competitive. Whether playing poker, chess, backgammon, or even Facebook games. I need to be the best. So with the close call In AC I decided it was time to reinvent myself and get back on the felt and win some tourneys.

So I started Sunday with my first real MTT session in a long time. And I pretty much Shaqed the shit out of it. Threw bricks like there was no tomorrow. I didn't feel like I played that badly I just didn't get home at all. I had a lot of close sweats and lost some big pots in big spots had I won I would have put it in Bigdog mode and maybe made a run at some stuff. It just didn't happen. So I took Monday off.

Then on Tuesday Marc "aznAllin007" Alioto talked me into putting in a session and firing off the stars 1k.  I decided what the hell, if I'm going get back into MTTs I might as well jump right into the fire. Well as it turned out it was a good choice. I got back on the horse played 8 tourneys that day cashed 3 including the elusive win that I had been craving and that came in the biggest tourney of the session the stars 1k. I ended up chopping it for $72k and it left $6k to the winner to play for which I eventually ended up winning.

I am currently planning on making a video series with that hand history with online poker legend Mark "dipthrong" Herm. It should be good times and bring up a lot of memories of when we use to go over hand histories together to improve each other's games. This win has given me even more motivation to keep playing MTTs. Maybe get back in that elite club where I am raked in the top 2 or 3 of MTTs online in the world.

Those were good times back then and I wouldn't mind being in that circle again. So I don't want to set actual goals or put too much pressure on myself, as the love for the game has come back to me and I don't want to put that fire out by putting something out there I can't attain.

However, you will be seeing me a lot more on the live and virtual felts. Good luck to each and every one of you reading this blog.
