The Chirp Herm Show- Michael “Gags30” Gagliano (41:42)

https://www.tournamentpokeredge.com/the-chirp-herm-show/

In this episode we have Gags30 along for the ride, we hear about his recent live poker in Prague, involving a weird early hand where he misclicked early and ends up getting it in for a massive flip with 44. It has the typical Chirp Herm show feel to it and is quite entertaining.

Developing a Pre-Game Routine for Poker

We have a new article this week about developing a pregame routine for poker to make sure you are prepared and in the correct mindset to grind. Very good for those like me that are pretty slack with correctly planning sessions and getting into the correct mindset before you load up

In this member HH review from Rivermen123, we start out in the rebuy period and James discusses some general rebuy strategy and how it should differ from normal strategies in some aspects but be similar in others. He also picks out a ton of spots to isolate limpers with capped ranges, and talks about the pros and cons of limping behind v isolating. In part 2 James touches on the tendency to try eliminate players and talks about how our goal is to accumulate chips. The table plays pretty shallow so there are some adjustments to the shorter effective stacks in terms of opening and r/f ranges. There are a ton of potential 3bet shoves spots and James talks about the profitability of them. James also breaks out the Nash calculator to determine the game theory optimal shoving ranges given ICM on the final table which is very interesting. He uses the same calculator used in Betudontbet’s premier series, except because of the payout structure the results are quite interesting.  In part 3 we return 5 handed, with lots more nash stuff which is always fun. HU James identifies some bet sizing tells. The HU battle is pretty long as we start almost 4-1 dog but steadily grind him down. James discusses sizing v someone who calls too much, James advocates making it bigger to punish him for bleeding so much preflop, there are a few interesting hands where we lead into our opponent on the flop, and James talks about keeping this range relatively balanced to achieve the best outcome.

Ccuster911 $60 Freezeout Hand History review by Marc anzallin007 Alioto

https://www.tournamentpokeredge.com/ccuster911-60-freezout-hand-history-review-by-marc-aznallin007-alioto-part-5/

Cody and Marc wrap up their HH review, we return short handed on the final table, and they break out pokerstove to determine appropriate calling ranges. They also talk about stack dynamics and whether or not people will adjust factoring into our decisions. They also talk about floating different hands and different lines with showdown value.

Cody has a tendency to flat and float a lot, which makes for some very interesting postflop spots, although marc criticizes him for not 4betting enough. The HU battle has some interesting spots, firstly cody r/c a hell of a lot more than he 4bets, which I assume is a lot to do with being in position and how wide ranges are. He also runs some unorthodox sizing throughout including overbetting as a bluff and for value which is very interesting. After getting walked whenever he has a strong hand, Cody eventually runs into a massive cooler to finish 2nd.  Also Cody has been very active in the comments section so it definitely worth reading them and asking any questions you might have.

TPE THEORY: Holdem Manager for MTT players

In this series Ben Hayes takes us through the ins and outs of Holdem Manager. Part 1 focuses on setting up a basic HUD, adjusting and altering the layout and content on the hud, as well as some of the functions of the HUD. He also touches on colour coding stats although he comes back to this later in the series. Part 2 delves into stats on our HUD, starting with VPIP and PFR and moving onto positional statistics. There is particular emphasis on colour boundaries for stats, which is ultra useful and Ben explains it very simply. He also explains the links between every stat and how they all can affect the acceptable levels of others. Part 3 continues with the discussion of stats. Ben’s delivery throughout the series is very clear and this series will be useful for those that are both new and very experienced with HM2.
