Hey guys. This week we are introduced to a new pro, David “betudontbet” Emmons. He is one of many American MTT pros that has made the move overseas (in his case Mexico) to continue the online grind. David has nearly $2.5 million in online winnings including 2nd place in the PartyPoker $100K High Roller in January 2012 for $29,000 and the 3rd place in the PokerStars Super Tuesday $1k for $37,000 . He also has a Triple Crown and a MiniFTOPS jersey on his resume. On January 29, 2012, he had his biggest score to date, winning the Championship of Online Poker Main Event on PokerStars for almost $383,000. David is currently ranked #1 in the world on PokerStars according to Official Poker Rankings. Certainly a huge addition to the site!

We also have the concluding parts to BourbonFTW’s latest series, and Part 2 of “Rivermen123’s” Member Spotlight Video.

BourbonFTW 100r Hand History Review

 Part  3

 Part 4

Part 3 starts with a massive hand where he gets it in 3 ways and ends up with nearly 170bb at the end, and the rungood doesn’t relent. There is some nice discussion on thin value betting early on in the vid too. The tell-tale aggression comes to the fore, and there are some sick hands where the villain’s spew their whole stack, although there are still some nice situations where BourbonFTW exercises pot control.  He builds a huge stack and the vid ends near the final table bubble.

Part 4 continues with the deep and shorthanded play, although Dan has gotten a little card dead of late, but there are some really sick spots with villains that he has a lot of history against. About halfway through the video the final table starts and Dan and another guy have huge chip leads over everyone else, although there is a massive pot early on that changes that, and a huge cooler unfortunately sends Dan to the rail in 5th.

Member Spotlight: Rivermen123 4r Live Sweat

Part 2

In part 2 we return to the final table of a $4r on Lock, as well as a $33 super stack on Bovada, and a Merge $3 turbo rebuy.  One of the great things that James does is forecast what he is going to do when faced with action from all of the other stacks when he opening. This is pretty important in tournament poker, so if you need to get better at this, then this is a great video for you.  There is some shorthanded and heads up play late in the video too.

Dave “betudontbet” Emmons Premiere Series Live Sweat

Part 1

TPE welcomes David “betudontbet” Emmons as its newest pro! For his very first video, he treats us to a live sweat of some high stakes action. We have the $320 $125k, the Big $109, $54 Turbo, $109r, and $22 Action hour, so there is plenty of action to get our head around. It sounds like he is settling in for a long session too, so it seems we are in for a big series. In the first part of the video he discusses that controlling tilt is the most important skill to learn in poker.

If you have ever wondered about Nash push-fold charts and other things like that, check out this vid because David gives you some links to those resources and tips on how to use it. It’s almost like a theory video and live sweat rolled into one! If you ever want to hear a sick brag, Dave confesses how he won the $109r 3 times in a week. And he doesn’t even mention his TCOOP main event win. That’s just insane!

Forum

This week “isaacjames” posts a hand from a local casino live tourney where he has JJ.

OkieNGa also comes up with an interesting twist on the standard strategy hand, and posts from the perspective of the villain, in order to get comments on what HIS line represents, great idea!

WSOP is coming up super fast, so if you are a TPEer that is going, or you want to check the progress of others, head over to the “TPE at the WSOP” forum. You will find people’s schedules, tips on what games to play, or you can rail the TPE fantasy league that unfortunately has started already, but might be interesting. Check it out!

Lastly, if you are interested in getting to know site founder Killingbird a little better, he has started a “ask me” thread, check it out!

Member Scores

On the live poker front, TPE pro Lee Childs finished third in a WPT event in Philadelphia for 34k! Certainly an awesome achievement.  “chopyouup” and “mcganwin2” both made deepish runs in ANZPT Perth but unfortunately were unable to make the really big cash.

On the online front, new member “fredhand19” had a HUGE double score, shipping the Stars $27.5 big antes for 2k, then the very next night finishing 5th in a $16.5 6max. TiltedEV also made back to back final tables in the Night Owl. Great effort lads!

See you at the tables!
