I almost didn’t write this tonight. You know, given that I won life changing money and all. I deserve a day off. Then I remembered all the TPE guys congratulating me on my hard work. How could I not keep my nose to the grindstone for the Nation? Hell, it’s not like I can sleep anyway. So here goes…

This week, Matt Hunt wraps up his shortstack series and Marc Alioto continues his hand history review. We get a new Stop and Go hand from Matt Hunt as well. Last but not least, there were also one or two member scores. 🙂

I tell you what man, 2015 is officially the year of The Nation.

TPE Theory: Shortstack Play by Matthew Hunt

Matthew Hunt continues his theory series on playing short stacks. He uses the Holdem Resources Calculator to analyze 25bb and under play. In part 5, he looks at 18-25bb play. This is key if you are going to be a tournament player because this is where most of the stacks are when the real money starts to get doled out. He concludes that we should be defending the BB vigorously at this stack depth. In part 6, he looks at the same stack sizes but this time, he focuses on exploitive play instead of GTO play.

Sunday Big Ticket Hand History Review with Marc Alioto and Guests

Marc Alioto continues his hand history review of his Merge major win. In part 2, he is joined by fellow TPE pro Hurricane Jeff. The fellas start with 34bbs far from the money. Marc steadily grinds his stack up and then wins a flip halfway through which gives him room to go into boss mode. He ends with almost 50bbs. In part 3, he continues with more of the same until he gets down to 15bbs with 2 tables left after losing a big pot. No problem. Two boats later, he is a massive chip leader heading towards the final table.

Stop and Go: Playing vs Misclicks by Matthew Hunt

https://www.tournamentpokeredge.com/stop-and-go/playing-vs-misclicks/

Matthew Hunt brings us a Stop & Go hand where he plays T9o from the BTN. He faces a min 3-bet from the SB which Matt determines is a misclick. He calls and gets a flop that allows him an opportunity to take advantage of villain’s mistake.
