Hey guys, this week we continue with the micro stakes vids, so for those of us that are still moving up, it should be a good week. ttwist continues with parts 2 and 3 of his Micro Madness, although part 3 is actually a brand new video with some different micro tournaments, this time focussing on mid stages. We also reach the conclusion of BourbonFTW’s hand history review for “switelex”. TPE has continued to crush the Poker Maximus series too, with at least another two four-figure scores over the week!

Micro Madness with ttwist (Part 2,3 of 4)

Ttwist continues his micro madness, and this week we get two parts. The bubble has burst in the $3.30 Lock tourney although unfortunately he doesn’t last long. The bubble has also burst in the $2.20 $1.5k on stars, and he has also loaded up the Big $3.30 on stars. After getting short in the $2.20, the rollercoaster ride continues, and so does the runbad. I think he should have called this series “Madness in the Micros” instead, but I guess dodging the minefield is a skill in itself.

Part 3 is a different set of tournaments, this time concentrating on the mid stages. This time ttwist has 3 tourneys going, a $2.20r 500 cap and, a $4.40 8max on Stars, and a $5 1k gtd on Lock. After a nice read on a T6Tdd board where he gets it in with AK  high, ttwist has a great stack in all three tournaments. There is a great hand at the 19 minute mark where he wins a huge pot and gets maximum value, it is a really great example of how to play a huge hand in a microstakes tournament.  All three tourneys get close to or in the money by the end of the video, so the stage is set for some deep runs in part 4.

BourbonFTW Member Hand History Review for swhitelex (Part 1 of 3)

In part 2, “switelex” starts with 20bb at the 300/600 level, so it is time to double up soon. BourbonFTW picks up some bet sizing tells as switelex builds his stack nicely. There is a nice hand at the 16 minute mark where BourbonFTW thinks there is a missed call spot on a reshove, and then goes through the maths on why that is the case. So if you need to brush up on estimating a shoving range and doing some EV calcs, check this hand out. The theme of this video seems to be bet sizing, and there are some great tips.

In part 3, we are getting really deep now, and soon it is final table time. Once again we get some call EV calcs which is just great to see outside of a theory video. Once again I think there are a few leaks for “switelex” to plug, but BourbonFTW’s explanations as to why they are leaks are really good.

Forum

Once again, we have a lot of action in the forums this week. “hapetimes” asks about the way he played KK in the first hand of the Sunday kickoff.

“dawhiteninja” asks about a reship spot, which leads to some really great EV analysis from “tiny_molester”, https://www.tournamentpokeredge.com/forum/mtt-poker-strategy/is-this-a-reship/

“Gimicio” wants to know about a spot in a step 3 tournament with AQ. https://www.tournamentpokeredge.com/forum/mtt-poker-strategy/aqo-in-2nd-hand-of-a-step-3/

“rivermen123” is also back at it creating some member videos, and this guy is a gun so if you are after some extra content, check them out.  https://www.tournamentpokeredge.com/forum/mtt-poker-strategy/another-member-video/. If you don’t quite believe me that this guy is a sicko, check out this BBV thread https://www.tournamentpokeredge.com/forum/brags-beats-and-variance/insane-start-to-2012/

Lastly, the big news for online poker outside the US this week was Pokerstars’ introduction of their fast moving ring game product, “Zoom Poker”. Rush poker was a big hit on FTP, and so I was excited to try zoom poker, and it looks really good. Post your thoughts here

Member Scores

With poker maximus still in full swing, and the TPE nation hitting the tables hard, there has been lots of notable scores lately. “mmfitter” finished 4th in Event 39 for $1930, “rootsprincess” took 5th place in Event 25 for $1740, and “rivermen123” and “praetor” cashed in Event 28, which was a heads up tournament.

In other results, the big score for the week belongs to “mcgcanwin2”, who finished 5th in a $99r on Party for $2700, great effort. “hapetimes” shipped an ANZPT Sydney satty for 2.2k, chopped a Stars 6max tourney for $1.4k, and final tabled a $3r turbo, so he has had some great results lately. “SJOHN” chopped the 10k gtd on stars for 1.4k, and a couple of new faces to the forum come to the party with some solid brags! “mantronix” introduces himself with a $1k score on stars, and “FlyGuy” and “unicornfarts” have had some nice results in the micros.

In troublesome news, it seems that “insidiously” only managed to make a single final table this week, he must be in the throes of a massive downswing!

See you at the tables!
